Centennial celebrations in Windward Islands District
The Centennial celebrations of the Church of the Nazarene took off with great pomp and pride in the islands forming the Windward Islands District in the eastern Caribbean. The district is made up of eight churches on the islands of Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia. (Slideshow)

Lenasia, South Africa, church celebrates new members at Centennial
The Lenasia Church of the Nazarene on the South Africa Gauteng District joined with Nazarene churches around the world to celebrate the Centennial in fine style. The church was packed to capacity with 250 former and present members.

Simpler student meals feed Albanian kids
A ringing cowbell marks the beginning of the Friday midday meal at European Nazarene College, and though students, faculty, and staff eat together Monday through Friday in the dining hall, Fridays are unique. For more than 30 years, EuNC students have chosen to finish the week with a simpler meal, known as Rice and Prayer.

Homeless help fight to save homes of others
Siloam Mission's MOST (Mission: Off the Street Team) rushed to St. Adolphe, Manitoba, on April 15 to help weary residents sandbag their homes after receiving a call for help from the area's fire department that morning. Siloam Mission is a ministry agency of the Canada West District.

The Association of Nazarene Sociologists and Researchers held its 28th annual meeting this March. In addition to several scholarly presentations, the group honored one retired sociologist and recognized the achievements of some undergraduate scholars.

The questions will be collected, categorized, and shared with a group of Nazarene historians who will answer them in an upcoming video project to be released in time for General Assembly.

Three urban immersion classes offered at NTS this summer
Nazarene Theological Seminary is pleased to once again offer a full scholarship to students enrolled in its summer modular course "Theology of Work." The course will be offered May 11-18 and will be taught by Fletcher Tink, NTS adjunct faculty and executive director of the Bresee Institute for Metro-Ministries.

Ethan Hamilton to succeed Carroll Land as PLNU athletic director
Point Loma Nazarene University announces the hiring of Ethan Hamilton as athletic director, effective on June 15. Hamilton is currently the men's head basketball coach and associate athletic director at PLNU. He succeeds Carroll Land, who has served the university in the roles of professor in kinesiology, head baseball coach from 1961-1999, and athletic director since 1968.

Former Trojan Bradley Coon reflects on the passing of close friend and Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart
Nick Adenhart, the young pitcher who made the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's opening day roster, was killed in an auto accident last week, shocking the professional baseball world. Former Trevecca Nazarene University baseball All-American Bradley Coon was a former roommate of Adenhart in AAA and remained a close friend.
