Plane crashes into Buffalo area neighborhood
Late Thursday night, February 12, Colgan Air Flight 3407 crashed into a Clarence Center, New York, neighborhood killing all 49 passengers on board and at least one citizen on the ground. The Amherst Church of the Nazarene is just 8 miles from the crash site. read more

U.S. Hispanic congregation doubles in one year at Centennial
In 2007, the church board and leadership of the Shawnee, Kansas, Church of the Nazarene followed God's calling that led to a one-year anniversary at the Nazarene Centennial. For a number of years, the Shawnee church had offered a Spanish-speaking Sunday School class, but God had directed them in an expansion of this effort - to launch a Hispanic congregation in 2007. read more

A home for Amelia
As the year 2009 began, a plane arrived in Tonga, carrying a team of volunteers from a small Korean congregation in Auckland, New Zealand. They were there to assist the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry's Mango Tree Respite Centre in building a home for one of their constituents. In the end, they had helped to build up this family and their entire community. (Slideshow) read more

Snow, sleds, and skis - A day in the Alps for EuNC
Snow pants, gloves, hats, jackets, scarves, boots, and laughing people filled multiple vans headed for the Alps. It was time for the annual Snow Day at European Nazarene College. Change of 700 MHz freqency band could force churches to adjust
The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) has reallocated and auctioned off the 698 MHz to 806 MHz spectrum, generally referred to as the 700 MHz frequency band. The space will now become home to public safety and commercial users, which means wireless microphone users - such as churches - that are operating in that spectrum have to "vacate the premises" by February 17, 2009. read more

Mount Vernon Nazarene University was named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth by The Corporation for National and Community Service.
