Mark D. Berry chosen to lead Alabama South District
The Church of the Nazarene Board of General Superintendents has announced that Dothan, Alabama First Church of the Nazarene Senior Pastor Mark D. Berry has been elected superintendent of the Alabama South District. With General Superintendent Nina G. Gunter presiding, Berry was elected on the 7th ballot on May 3, to be effective 30 days after the election.  read more

NewStart churches top 100 for fifth year in a row
For the fifth year in a row, more than 100 new churches were started in the U.S and Canada. According to NewStart, there was an increase of 172 new churches this past year. This represents the largest number of new churches started in one year in the U.S. and Canada over the last four decades. This also puts the average number of new churches started in the U.S. and Canada each year at more than 100 since 1994, the year the NewStart strategy was launched.  read more

Asian and Pacific youth unite for Pilipinas NYC 2007
"ISA!" was the resounding theme heard consistently throughout the Pilipinas Nazarene Youth Congress (NYC) 2007. "Isa," the Filipino word for "one," accentuated the Nazarene Youth International (NYI) quadrennial ministry focus of "One Story, One Hope, One Mission, One Justice." The event, held April 16-20, drew 200 youth from across the Philippines to the Luzon Nazarene Bible College in Baguio to celebrate their cultural differences; however, their unity is in Christ.  read more

SAM, MAC regions unite for key discipleship initiative
A historic meeting recently took place in Panama City uniting multiple world regions with the purpose of launching a new inter-regional discipleship initiative. To coordinate the development of lay leadership training materials, South America (SAM) Regional Director Christian Sarmiento and Mexico/Central America (MAC) Regional Director Carlos Saenz were joined by their respective regional ministries coordinators and field strategy coordinators, as well as Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International Director Woodie Stevens and representatives from the Spanish Field of the Caribbean Region and Hispanic Ministries of USA/Canada Mission Strategy.  read more
