| David Winkler is a familiar name in church instrumental music, having directed groups both large and small since the mid-'70s. A graduate of North Texas State University (B.M. -- Jazz Studies) and the University of Texas at San Antonio (M.M. -- Choral Conducting), he has served as pianist, orchestra director, and minister of music in churches in Texas and Tennessee. As a producer, he has twice been nominated for a Dove award for Best Instrumental Recording for his collaborations with Fletch Wiley. Currently, Mr. Winkler is a freelance arranger and editor in Nashville, Tennessee. A keyboardist, he serves as pianist for the Nashville Praise Symphony, a select group of church musicians directed by Camp Kirkland. As an educator, he has taught piano and guitar privately, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Williamson Christian College. He is also a long-time member of the Metro Instrumental Directors Conference. |
