Dr. Wynkoop was a student of theologian H. Orton Wiley at Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University). She was the founding president of Japan Nazarene Theological Seminary and was professor of theology at Trevecca Nazarene College (now University). Her book A Theology of Love is considered a holiness classic.

Dr. Stowe and Dr. Lewis each served 25 years as general superintendent. Before his election, Dr. Stowe was general president of Nazarene Young People’s Society (now Nazarene Youth International) and president of Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Dr. Lewis served as a district superintendent and as the first secretary of the Department of Evangelism.
